Case Study (Natalie Rys)
After having Mrs. Roeser for AP English III her junior year, she felt academically exhausted. Despite this, she went into her senior year with a positive outlook and a reasonable amount of motivation, though she did not want to too many essays or other heavy work. She did not care as much about her grades as she had in previous years of high school, and thus did not do as much homework and did not try as hard.
The turning point for Ms. Rys, however, was when she was admitted to Ramapo College. Now that her spot was secured, any grain of motivation that had kept her going dissolved into oblivion. Her grades began to drop even further, and after AP exams she might as well have been a chimpanzee in a wig and yoga pants attending classes on her behalf.
